Calvary offers a variety of ministry programs designed to meet your needs and interests. Unless otherwise noted, ministry programs at Calvary are open to anyone in the community regardless of church affiliation. Women's Ministries

Women's Bible Studies

Along with the women's afternoon bible study on the second Thursday of each month at 1 pm there is a women's bible study group meeting on Monday evenings scheduled at 7:30 in the library.

 

Crafty Therapy Group

If you enjoy making crafts, join Calvary's Crafty Therapy Group! This group of ladies enjoys fun and fellowship while working on a variety of crafts and service projects. The Crafty Therapy Group meets each Wednesday at 9:00 A.M.

Presbyterian Women's Association

Calvary's Presbyterian Women's (PW) group is committed to ministering to the needs of women and children here at Calvary, in our community and throughout the world. PW coordinates and sponsors many activities. Quarterly leadership meetings are held to plan for programs and budgeting.

Children's Ministries

Sunday School for Elementary Students

Our youth Sunday School follows a DVD-based topical bible study.

During church after the children's sermon, children grades K-3 have their own worship.

Afterwards, we hold Sunday school for elementary grades 1-5, and we have another Sunday school class for grades preschool to kindergarten.  Children in the elementary Sunday School study a systematic survey of Old & New Testaments whose lessons are re-enforced through various activities.

Thursday Kids' Clubs

Thursdays, 6:30-7:00 P.M. (Cancelled for summer months)

Each Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. following the Logansport School calendar.

Music Ministries

No previous choir or musical experience is necessary for you to meet new friends, serve your church, grow in faith, and find Christian fun and fellowship in Calvary's music ministries.

Celebration Choir

Thursdays, 7:00-7:30 P.M. weekly during the school year. (Cancelled for summer months)

Celebration Choir is open to children in Kindergarten through 6th grade. The Celebration Choir sings the anthem one Sunday per month during the school year. The choir also performs a musical once each school year complete with sets, props, choreography, and memorized lines.

Chancel Choir

Thursdays, 7:15-8:15 P.M. weekly during the school year

The Chancel Choir provides a variety of worship music and assists congregational singing each week from September through mid-June. They also present a cantata once each year. The Chancel Choir is open to anyone from Junior High students through adults. There are no auditions; the only qualification is a desire to sing!

Additional Music Ministries

In addition to our choirs, there are many other opportunities for music ministry at Calvary. Special music is often provided by soloists, small groups, or instrumental ensembles. A praise band also regularly enhances our worship with contemporary Christian music.

Student Ministries

High School & Middle School Programs

Christian Education at Calvary involves the nurture of all believers as we grow in our relationship with the Lord and in the knowledge of our God.  We embody Christ's love through service and study, as part of the vows we make at baptism. 

Calvary Youth Group hangs out every Monday for hot pizza, hot topics and study session from 4-6 p.m.

Annual events for youth include a summer mission trip, leading worship on Youth Sunday, Thanksgiving baskets, and Christmas caroling at nursing homes

Adult & Family Ministries

Calvary Drama Team

Calling all faithful actors to help share the message of the Good News through simple drama sketches at our worship services! Sketches provide an illustration or message related to the content of the sermon. No experience necessary!

Christian Education Programs

Calvary offers Christian Education programs for persons of all ages, from pre-school children through senior citizens. Our CE programs are intended to be engaging learning experiences for both children and adults.

CSM Video & CD Library

Calvary Student Ministries has a collection of popular Christian videos and contemporary Christian CD's that may be checked out for entertainment at home.

Davidson Library

Calvary's on-site library includes a wide variety of resources that are available to be checked out for home study and enjoyment. Included in the library collection are books, resource books, children's books, videos, and audiotapes.

Great Banquet

Based on the parable in Luke 14:15-24, the Great Banquet is a wonderful time of fellowship with Christians from throughout North Central Indiana. For more information, contact Doug and DeAnn Mankell (574-737-8204) or click here to visit The Great Banquet homepage.

Men's Bible Study

For the summer months, the Men's Bible study is meeting on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm instead of Thursday mornings at 8 am. Additional Bible study opportunities for men may develop throughout the year. All men's Bible studies are open to all men for fellowship, Bible study, and prayer. Contact the church office for dates and times.

Prayer Chain

The Calvary Prayer Chain is a telephone tree of prayer for members of the church and the community. The prayer chain provides prayerful support for people facing a difficult situation such as illness, surgery, death of a loved one, or other emergency. Loaves and Fishes

Loaves and Fishes is a meal for the community is served by volunteers.

The Race For Grace

Mark your calendar to run, walk, jog, or crawl in the 13th annual Race For Grace on Saturday, July 10, 2010. Starting time is 8:00 A.M. at Calvary Presbyterian Church near downtown Logansport.

The race is designed to satisfy both competitive runners and participants more interested in a fun opportunity to exercise.
